The Utice Fire Department wants to make the public aware that they will be testing hydrants in the city starting Monday, May 20th, 2017.

The department intends to inspect each and every hydrant in the city limits and they will do it one section at a time. Fire personnel will begin tests on Monday at 9 a.m. and will run each Monday thru Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will also inspect on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This process is estimated to last until June 5th, 2017.

Be advised that the hydrant inspections may cause water to become discolored. Residences on adjacent streets should check their water before consumption. If your cold water is discolored, do NOT use your hot water. Despite the discoloring there will be NO BOIL WATER ADVISORY. Normal water pressure will be maintained and the water is not contaminated.

Anyone with questions is directed to call the Mohawk Valley Water Authority at (315) 792-0301.
