Bronx, NY (WIBX) - The Yankees clinched the American League East crown on Wednesday night, sweeping a doubleheader from the Tampa Bay Rays in New York.

That coupled with Boston's 6-4 loss to Baltimore locked up the 2011 division title for the bombers, the franchise's 17th AL East title.

In game 1, New York rallied for three runs in the 8th to beat the Rays 4-2. They won by that same margin in the nightcap.

Jorge Posada's pinch-hit game winning two RBI single in the 8th inning of game 2 put the Yankees ahead for good.
