The day of the Binghamton Mets Home opener has public attention split between the diamond and the court.

B-Mets owners were told in Federal Court in Utica April 15 that they could not entertain offers for the sale of the team at least until April 30th.

The judge has extended a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in a breach of contract suit filed by would-be buyers Main Street Baseball.

The extension allows more information to be gathered and presented in the case.

Main Street Baseball claimed a letter of intent to buy the team constitute a binding agreement while the Mets ownership said the letter was not a legal contract.

After a required 60 day period expired with no talks, the Binghamton Mets began entertaining other offers and signed another letter of intent with another potential buyer, who, unlike Main Street, planned to keep the Eastern League team in Binghamton.
