Utica, NY (WIBX) - Mayor David  Roefaro is urging Uticans to fight for a local postal facility.

The U.S. Postal Service, in an  attempt to cut costs, may close the postal processing and distribution facility located on Pitcher Street. Roefaro says keeping Utica's postmark is a chief concern.

The Mayor is hopeful citizens will voice their displeasure to elected officials on the Federal level.

A public hearing will take place this evening at 5:30 at the State Office Building at 207 Genesee Street in Utica.
