Michael Morse's fourth-inning grand slam took the lead away from Johan Santana and the Mets, en route to a 6-4 win on Friday night in the nation's capital.

Bryce Harper also took the left deep for a two-run shot the following inning as the division leading Nations upped their record to 74-45.

Santana (6-9) allowed six runs on seven hits over five innings, marking his fifth start of at least six earned - all losses - as his ERA has ballooned to 4.85.

Ross Detwiler moved to 7-5, allowing three runs over six innings.

Tyler Clippard walked two in the ninth, but got Ruben Tejada to fly out to left to earn save No. 26.

The Met offense got a solo homer from newly acquired cather Kelly Shoppach. Daniel Murphy drove in a pair of first inning runs to get New York the early lead.

Scott Hairston contributed three hits and two runs scored.
