Car Alarm Spurs Foot Chase, Arrest, Drug Charges

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Two men were arrested following a foot chase and scuffle at the intersection of Sunset Avenue and Burrstone Road in Utica. Utica Police say Richard Miller and Joseph Butler, both 19, were seen running from a car whose alarm was set off. According to the report the homeowner and another man were able to detain the suspects until police arrived, after chasing them down the street to the intersection.

Officials say both suspects were charged with Criminal Trespass. Miller is facing an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, after he was found in possession of marijuana, a controlled substance and a glass pipe. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on the 1600 block of Hager Street.
