Construction To Begin Soon On Utica Tower

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica is telling the world it's open for business, Hollywood style.

The Utica Tower, a 24-foot-by-125 foot sign, will be placed in North Utica off Harbor Lock Road announcing that fact to visitors, travelers and area residents.

The tower will spell out Utica in 7-foot lights and will be visible from the Thruway, Routes 8 and 12 and other major routes, including Route 49.

The project is being financed by Frank Giotto, a Utica native and President of Fiber Instrument Sales in Oriskany.

The tower is expected to take six to nine months to complete.
