Albany, NY (WIBX) - Governor Cuomo has signed legislation raising the age at which teenagers can use indoor tanning facilities from 14 to 17.

And teens ages 17 and 18 must now have parental consent before going to a tanning center.

Cuomo says exposure to UV radiation can be extremely harmful, particularly for younger people.

The law will take effect in 30 days.
