FORT KENT, Maine (AP) — A nurse who says she defied quarantines on behalf of all health care workers who are returning from battling Ebola in West Africa is free and clear to begin the next chapter of her life.

The 21-day incubation period is now behind her, and Kaci Hickox and her boyfriend are moving from Fort Kent on the Canadian border to southern Maine.

Hickox says that for now, they intend to spend time in Freeport while sorting out their next move.

They decided to move when Ted Wilbur withdrew from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Hickox and Wilbur have been critical of university officials, accusing them of forcing him to stay away from campus where he was a senior nursing student.
