New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says New York currently has $12.5 billion in unclaimed fund accounts. "We want to return this money to its rightful owners," DiNapoli said. "The money belongs to New Yorkers. We want to give it back."

You can find out if you are owed any of the $12.5 billion at events across the state this August.

Central New Yorkers can visit the New York State Fair between August 22 and 31, where representatives from DiNapoli's office will be on site.
