Training flights are once again a "go" for the New York Air National Guard in Fort Drum.

MQ-9 Reaper missions resumed on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield.  Missions were temporarily halted after a drone crashed in Lake Ontario on November 12, 2013.

The 174th Attack Wing, conducting the mission during which the unmanned drone crashed, has since suspended the search for the Reaper, of which only a few pieces of wreckage have been retrieved.  No one was injured as a result of the November 12th crash.  Officials from the Syracuse area base are now asking members of the public to come forward if they find wreckage.

A second drone crashed onto the USS Chancellorsville just four days later.  Two Navy shipmen were injured in that incident that occurred off the coast of Point Mugu in the Pacific Ocean.
