Free Tax Preparation Available

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Two local organizations are teaming up to offer free basic income tax preparation.

The Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency and Mohawk Valley Asset Building Coalition are taking appointments from individuals and families earning up to $49,000 a year.

The service is being offered at the MVCAA offices in Utica, Rome and Herkimer and appointments are required.

To make an appointment, call the Utica Office at 733-487, the Rome Office at 339-2649 or the Herkimer Office at 866-0030.

Tax returns are filed electronically, free of charge.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program served 267 families last year.
