A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday to celebrate the official grand opening of the Tractor Supply Company Distribution Center in Frankfort.

The 925,000 square foot distribution center is located at the Frankfort 5S South Business Park and currently services over 140 tractor supply stores in the Northeast.

The center is a key component of the company’s northeastern expansion strategy.

The facility has already created over 280 local jobs, with the capacity to create more than 350 jobs within the next five years.

"From day one of this administration we have made significant strategic investments upstate to create good jobs and bolster the economy, and the grand opening of this distribution center in Herkimer County demonstrates once again that New York State is open for business," Governor Cuomo said. "We are proud to invest in companies that invest in New York and Tractor Supply Company's new facility will generate hundreds of jobs and move the Mohawk Valley's economy forward."

The Frankfort distribution center is Tractor Supply's eighth center nationwide

It's the largest economic development project in Herkimer County in 30 years.
