Herkimer County Fair Preview

Frankfort, NY (WIBX) - The 2011 Herkimer County Fair begins its six-day run at the Fairgrounds in Frankfort Tuesday.Opening ceremonies will take place at 3:00 p.m. and the gates will officially open at 4:00 p.m.

Over sixty thousand visitors are expected to attend the fair, which runs through Sunday.

Herkimer County Fair's Director Gerry Elthorp says it will be a good time for all ages.

"I think we're all looking forward to another good year. Weather-wise it looks pretty decent throughout the week," said Elthorp. "We certainly have enough events both in the show-ring and as well as the kid events every day, as well as the free entertainment under the pavilion."
