Authorities say they've taken down a violent Syracuse gang responsible for trafficking heroin and cocaine throughout central New York.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler have announced the arrests of 52 people on nearly 400 charges.

About 30 individuals indicted today are members of the Bricktown Gang, which is alleged to be responsible for a significant amount of violence and drugs on Syracuse streets.

Schneiderman says those arrested sold heroin and cocaine throughout Onondaga, Madison, Oswego, Cortland and St. Lawrence Counties.

“These arrests send an unmistakable message: dealing death and violence in our communities will not be tolerated – and we will bring you to justice,” said Schneiderman.

Two Oneida residents, 35-year old Faniel Denis and 31-year old Antwan Lockhart   were among those arrested.
