New York Adds 30,100 Private Sector Jobs In December

New York's economy continues to grow.

The state added 30,100 private sector jobs in December while the statewide unemployment rate fell to 5.8%

That's according to figures released by the New York State Department of Labor.

Officials say the job count marks the largest monthly gain in two years and outpaces the nation's growth.

The unemployment rate is at its lowest level since October of 2008.
