NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York bicycle advocacy organization has received over $80,000 in grant funding to help make Niagara Falls more bike-friendly.

WGRZ-TV reports the Oath's Yahoo Community Fund for Niagara County - Empire State Development announced the $82,615 grant was awarded to Gobike Buffalo Monday. Funding will improve bicycle safety and make bikes more accessible.

The grant is part of the city's Complete Streets policy which aims to improve conditions for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Gobike Buffalo Executive Director Justin Booth says the organization had success under the Buffalo Bicycle Master Plan Update in 2016. Booth says the group is excited to help Niagara Falls.
