CANTON, N.Y. (AP) — Democrat Tedra Cobb is running for the northern New York congressional seat held by Republican Elise Stefanik.

Cobb announced on Monday in Canton that she's making another run at the incumbent, who defeated her in November.

Cobb's website says her key issues include health care costs, protecting the air and water, and improving infrastructure and the economy. She also wants to "reduce the influence of corporations and billionaires in Washington."

The 21st Congressional District candidate served on the St. Lawrence County Legislature from 2002 through 2010. She has worked as an AIDS educator, substitute teacher and founder of a health care nonprofit.

The Glens Falls Post-Star says Stefanik's campaign has already fired back with a video ad referring to Cobb as "the candidate who couldn't get elected."
