
NY State Police Troop D Has New Commander
Albany, NY (WIBX) -New York State Police Troop D has a new commander, Major Rodney Campbell of Richfield Springs has been promoted to that post.
The 45-year old began his career serving New York State back in 1989 as a Trooper in Troop D. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1996 and to Lieutenant in 2000. Major Campbell has also served in Troops T (Thruway), A (Buffalo area), and Division Headquarters in Albany.
Major Campbell's most recent assignment was as a Captain in Troop C (Sidney, NY) where he was in charge of the zone headquarters at SP Oneonta.
Major Campbell is a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in data processing. His command covers 7 counties which include Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and Madison. Operating from 27 facilities, the men and women of Troop D provide service to 167 towns, 89 villages and 5 cities.
