NYS Correction Officer Trainee Charged With Rape

A New York State Correction Officer trainee has been arrested for allegedly providing alcohol and having a sexual relationship with an inmate at the Marcy Correctional Facility.

State Police have charged 30-year old Stephanie Sampson of Utica with rape, official misconduct and promoting prison contraband.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by State Police and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Police says the investigation is continuing.
