The Herkimer Police Department announced the arrest of another individual for allegedly threatening people with a firearm, at least what the victims believed to be a firearm.

On the afternoon of December 26th, a tense situation unfolded on North Main Street when a fight escalated to a male suspect pulling a gun and threatening to shoot the other party. The Herkimer Police Department swiftly responded to the scene at approximately 1:40 p.m. By the time the police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene, leaving the weapon behind.

Herkimer Police officials say dispatchers provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect, leading to his quick apprehension. The Herkimer Police, with support from the New York State Police (NYSP) and the Village of Mohawk Police Department, located the weapon discarded in a nearby snowbank. Upon recovery, it was revealed that the handgun was a BB gun closely resembling a Glock handgun.
