Remington Arms Joins Ilion’s Power Grid

Ilion, NY (WIBX) - The area's largest employer is switching power sources. Remington Arms is joining the Village of Ilion's hydro power grid as a away to save money and retain jobs at the Herkimer County plant. State Senator Jim Seward says the process to get to this point has been tough.

"And the work to reach this point that we're announcing today as the mayor pointed out has been going on for years. And it was not an easy process," Seward said.

Seward says the power switch was vital to the company's expansion.
