Shocking details about the Germanwings plane crash in the French Alps are leaking out in various media reports this morning.

CNN.com is reporting that the co-pilot who was controlling the aircraft, 28-year-old Andreas Lubitz, deliberately activated the decent switch several minutes before it crashed into a mountain. The use of the word 'deliberate' comes in part due to data collected from the voice recorded inside the cockpit.

According to the report from CNN, Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said the recording revealed the sound of steady breathing in the cockpit, indicating:

The most plausible explanation of the crash is that the co-pilot "through deliberate abstention, refused to open the cabin door ... to the chief pilot, and used the button" to cause the plane to lose altitude, Robin said.

The prosecutor indicated Lubitz is a German National who was not on any terror watch lists, CNN reports.
