The State Comptroller's Office has completed an audit of the Village of Clinton's financial management with the conclusion that the village board did not give acceptable information about the village's finances.

The report stated that the clerk's financial records were inaccurate and unreliable, making it "impossible for officials to determine the condition of individual funds."

The Village of Clinton had a budget of $2.5 million for the 2013-2014 fiscal year, and village officials say they have agreed with and are working to implement the recommendations of the Comptroller's office.
