State Labor Department Releases March Unemployment Rates

The New York State Department of Labor is out with its preliminary local unemployment numbers for March.

The unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was 7.6 %, compared to 8.7% in March of 2013.

The state's jobless rate was 6.9% percent last month.

New York's private sector job count increased by over 108,000 from March 2013 to March of this year.
