Two Cases Of Rabid Animals Confirmed In Herkimer County

Herkimer County Public Health is reporting two separate cases of rabid animals in the county.

Officials say a bat and cat tested positive for the rabies virus.

They're reminding residents that all animal bites are required to be reported.  They also say it's important that pets are kept up to date with their rabies vaccinations.
