Two Inmates Charged With Possession Of A Weapon
Two inmates at the Marcy Correctional Facility are facing weapons charges
20-year old Edgardo Lopez was charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon.
State Police say his arrest stems from an incident at the jail where corrections officers allegedly found Lopez to be in possession of a sharpened piece of metal commonly referred to as a "shank."
Meanwhile, 19-year old Isaiah Bethea was arrested after corrections officers allegedly found a sharpened piece of metal inside the pocket of his pants.
Bethea was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and promoting prison contraband, both felonies.
The two incidents are not related.
