Union College Hockey Coach Suspended Two Games for Brawl
The coach of the men's hockey team at Union College is sitting out the next two games after allegedly "charged" another coach this weekend.
Rick Bennett approached the coach of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Seth Appert, immediately after the Mayor's Cup game in Albany on Saturday, January 26, 2014.
Bennett, a former player with the New York Rangers and Orlando Jackals, apparently did not take the loss well. RPI did, though, having taken pride in beating third-ranked Union.
The coaches had to be separated by other coaches and referees. The brawl broke out after the game-ending horn had sounded.
More than one hundred minutes' worth of penalties were handed out during the brawl between the Dutchmen and the Engineers.
