Utica Man Arrested For Possessing Three Pounds Of Pot Following Traffic Stop

A Utica man is behind bars following a traffic stop on I-87 in the Town of Athens.

State Police say, they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and upon interviewing the occupants, probable cause to search the vehicle was established.

It was discovered the driver, 19-year-old Samantha Segara of Utica, was in possession of just under 3 grams of marijuana.

State Police say, Segara's passenger, 24-year-old Xzavier Ross of Utica, was found to be in possession of just over 3 pounds of pot.

Segara was given an appearance ticket for the Town of Athens Court and Ross was arrested and charged with Felony Criminal Possession of Marijuana.

He was remanded to jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
