Utica Man Sentenced In 2016 Death Of Homeless Man

A Utica man who was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of a homeless man in 2016 was sentenced on Thursday in Oneida County Court.

23-year old Raekwon Winston will spend to 25 years to life in prison for killing Lawrence Edwards.

Edwards was found dead in a car on Rutger Street on May 7th, 2016.

Winston was also convicted of two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was sentenced to 15 years for each of the counts, which will be served concurrently with the murder sentence.
