Would You Be Comfortable Voting on a Smartphone? — Survey of the Day
Smartphones have changed the way we communicate, listen to music, watch videos, even how we pay our bills. But will this explosion in mobile technology one day change the way we vote?
As of now, there are no plans to replace the ballot box with an iPhone. But if that were to happen, the majority of younger voters would be fine with it. According to a new survey of 2,129 adults from Harris Interactive and internet radio provider Stitcher, 60 percent of 18- to 34-year-olds would be willing to cast their vote in the 2012 election by mobile app or text message as long as there were some basic assurances concerning voter fraud.
