Not registered to vote?  It will be easy to do this weekend.

In an cooperative effort to get out the vote, and encourage all who are not registered to do so, Townsquare Media and the Oneida County Board of Elections are putting a voter registration booth at Culture Fest 2014.

It is easy, free, and takes only a few minutes.

Who can register?  In New York State you must meet the following requirements in order to vote:

  • You must be a citizen of the United States;
  • You must be 18 years old by December 31st of the year in which you register;
  • You must by 18 years old by the date of the general, primary, or other election in which you want to vote;
  • You must have lived at your present address for at least thirty (30) days before the election;
  • You cannot be in prison;
  • You cannot be on parole for a felony conviction;
  • You must not be judged mentally incompetent by a court;
  • You must not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

That is it.  It is simple to do (did we say that already?), easy (we said that too), and basically there is no excuse for not registering when you go to Culture Fest on Saturday (unless, of course, you are already registered).  If you don't know anything about the upcoming elections, we'll help you with that too.  WIBX will continue to bring you full coverage of this year's campaigns in our Election 2014 coverage.
