Deadline To Register For NYS STAR is December 31

According to the department of taxation and finance, 60-65% of Oneida County residents have registered for the basic STAR program.
Christine Nuniez from the State Department of Taxation and Finance was at a meeting of the North Utica Neighborhood Association to explain how to register for the program. She says those who haven't could be missing out on up to $700 on on their school taxes this year.

Nuniez added that All basic STAR recipients will receive registration instructions by mail, or should have already, but you can double check your status by visiting the State Department of Taxation and Finance website.
