Two Facing Drug Charges In Madison County

Two Town of Smithfield residents are facing multiple drug charges following an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

23-year old Joseph Smith and 22-year old Kaela Amador were arrested after police searched a home on Old Country Road.

Smith and Amador were allegedly in possession of heroin and were in the process of packaging the heroin for individual sales.

Authorities say Cook and Amador attempted to destroy physical evidence when officers entered the home.

The two are facing charges including criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
