Sullivan, NY (WIBX) - State Police have released the name of the teenager who was shot to death by police.

Justin Arnold, 17, called 911 Thursday afternoon to report a carjacking, according to police. However, they say there was no carjacking and Arnold gave police a description of himself and his own vehicle.

When spotted by police, authorities say Arnold refused to stop for about four-miles. When he did, they say be exited the car with a what looked like a handgun. Police say it was actually a pellet gun.

Arnold was shot to death by two officers from the Canastota police department, Police Chief James Zogby and officer Sean Barten.

The investigation into the incident, including what may have motivated Arnold's actions, is still ongoing, according to Lt. Troy Litte of the New York State Police.
