Western New York Driver Dies in Fiery Single-Car Crash Over Weekend

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a man is dead following a fiery one-car crash in western New York over the weekend.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says deputies and firefighters were called to the scene around 2 a.m. Sunday in Lewiston for a report of a vehicle that left the roadway and was on fire.

Authorities say the car was engulfed in flames when they arrived and the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators didn't immediately identify the victim.

The crash remains under investigation.
