11-Year-Old Girl Hit By Car In West Utica

An 11-year old girl is expected to be okay after being hit by a car Friday morning at the corner of Sunset Avenue and Shaw Street in Utica.

The girl was struck while crossing the street to get to a school bus stop.

Utica Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit the girl fled the scene.

Witnesses provided officers with a description of the vehicle, which was located a short distance away

The girl was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries, which are non-life threatening.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and the appropriate tickets will issued.
