ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Fourteen farm operations around New York state will share $2.3 million in federal funding to create new products and improve their marketing strategies.

The grants announced by Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand come from the Department of Agriculture and are designed to promote "value-added" farm products like apple cider.

The recipients are Eden Works Inc. in Brooklyn; King Brothers Dairy in Saratoga County; Devine Gardens in Madison County; Partyka & Sons Farms in Orleans County; Celk Distilling in Wayne County; Donovan Orchards in Monroe County; Hathaway Farms and Millitello Farms in Chautauqua County; Niagara Landing Wine Cellars and Vizcarra Family Vineyards in Niagara County; Organic Indoor Gardens of Poughkeepsie; Fishkill Farms in Dutchess County; Thousand Islands Winery and Juniper Hill Farm in Essex County.
