KINGSTON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 15-year-old boy who was struck by a freight train in the Hudson Valley has died from his injuries.

Police in Kingston say the teen was struck by a southbound CSX train late Thursday afternoon in the city.

The teen was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. His name hasn't been released by police.

The investigation is continuing.

The death was the third this year in the Kingston area involving a CSX train.

In February, a 19-year-old Kingston man was struck and killed in neighboring town of Ulster. In November, another 19-year-old Kingston man was hit by a CSX train while walking on the tracks in a Kingston rail yard.
