Utica, NY (WIBX) - Area artists looking to help a non-profit local child advocacy and dispute resolution center are getting a chance to do so.

The Peacemaker Program's "Come to the Table" fundraiser event showcases decorated tables, available for bid or purchase, that local artists have an opportunity to design.

The deadline for artists to register is Friday, January 21.

Administrative and Marketing Assistant Romy Low says The Peacemaker Program has just recently had a funding cut to one of their programs.

"Which mean that we have to reduce how much we can serve the community," she said. "So, the money that we raise helps us train advocates to follow the children through the court process and make sure that they have a voice in court, and that they're looked-after within the community."

Last year the "Come to the Table" event raised over $20,000  and Low says they would like to raise even more this year.

The event is taking place Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 at Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro. Winners of the auctions will be announced Saturday at 3 p.m.
