Bitterly cold temperatures have frozen parts of the Northeast, especially for us here in central New York.

The air temperature in Utica and Marcy was 15 below zero this morning at 6:00 am, and factoring in the windchill it felt more like -25 to -30, according to the Weather Channel. Those conditions prompted several area school districts to close or operate on delay.

Callers to the WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning show called to tell us it was -19 degrees in West Winfield and -24 in Old Forge, Floyd and near Delta Lake.

Worse still, morning temperatures of 32 degrees below zero were reported near Watertown, according to the Weather Channel's Ray Stagic.
