Body Cameras Now Being Worn by Ithaca Police

Another New York police agency is wearing body cameras.

The Ithaca Police Department is announcing that it has begun using body cameras this week.

Officials say the use of body cameras will assist officers in evidence gathering and also enhance transparency and accountability within the department

The Ithaca Journal quotes Ithaca Police Chief John Barber as saying that "[a]ll officers must activate their cameras when engaged in 'law enforcement operations.'"
