The Utica Brewery District is "Going Red for Women" this Friday.

The F.X. Matt Brewery is hosting the event in participation with the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day.

This Friday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. a $5 donation will get you into Happy Hour at the Brewery and a wristband for specials and live entertainment on Varick Street.

Following Happy Hour a "Wear Red Pub Crawl" will visit The Celtic Harp, Nail Creek Pub, Shots, O'Donnell's, The Varick and Blu in an effort to get as much red on Varick Street as possible.

Held on the first Friday of every February, National Wear Red Day is the American Heart Association's special day to bring attention to heart disease, the silent killer of women. They encourage everyone to wear red to raise awareness and take action to live healthier.
