Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi has secured $250,000 in state funding to fully modernize Public Safety services at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Brindisi made the announcement on Friday at the expanded public safety facility.

He says the funding enabled the college to completely rebuild its Utica public safety facilities

That included adding an expanded dispatch room, separate offices for supervisors and officers and improved accessibility.

"One of the most important amenities any educational institution should offer is a secure campus students feel comfortable at. Through this grant, MVCC will provide public safety services in a facility designed for operating efficiency with improved accessibility for the public that will serve the college and the community for many years to come. This strong commitment to public safety will ensure that MVCC continues to grow and add to the quality of life here in the Mohawk Valley,” said Brindisi.
