Broome County State of Emergency Continues
The State of Emergency remains in effect for Broome County. The order, however, is not a travel ban.
Residents are being told to use extreme caution while traveling and expect to encounter debris as well as downed power lines.
New York State Electric and Gas is distributing bottled water and dry ice for residents still without power. The sites at Vestal Fire Station #4 on the Vestal Parkway East, Chenango Fire Department #2 on Castle Creek Road, Windsor Fire Department on Academy Street and the Campville Fire Department on Route 17 C are open from 8 a-m to 8 p-m.
NYSEG says over 1,000 personnel, including line workers, contractors and tree contractors have been working in the storm-damaged areas.
