Unhealthy snacks tend to be okay this weekend for Superbowl parties all across America and here are two great recipe staples that come from close to home in nearby Buffalo.

Here's a recipe for Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce and the very addictive Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce

  • 8 T hot pepper sauce (I like Frank's Red Hot, that's what is used at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo)
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt
Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup blue cheese dressing (you can also use Ranch)
1/2 cup red hot sauce (Frank's)
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
2 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 (9.75-ounce) cans chicken in water, drained  (Or you can use shredded chicken you cook yourself)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.In a baking dish or deep dish pie plate add the cream cheese and mix.Add the hot sauce, dressing and cheeses.  Fold in the canned chicken and bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot and bubbling.
Stir it up and serve with crackers, chips or toasted bread.
