WKTV held what turned out to be a "star studded" on-air news special for their 75th anniversary celebration on Monday night. Local celebrities and political figures presented commemorations and former WKTV on-air personalities sent in video greetings throughout the program as current personalities told the story of the now 75-year-old television station.

The 20th Anniversary New York Sash Teddy Bear Toss is set for this Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center at 7 p.m. and this year's will be a big game. The game is against #4 ranked and undefeated Geneseo, which the Utica Pioneers are tied with at the top of the UCHC. Both Utica and Geneseo are 6-0 in conference play.

I turned to artificial intelligence (AI) and asked for a political cartoon about the New York Mets and their quest for Juan Soto. First, I came up with the concept of what I wanted to create; then, I asked AI to draw it for me and after some tweaking, this is what I came up with (above).

The holiday season is here once again and so is the holiday music that plays over and over again. Some of those Christmas songs, if you have them on original vinyl, might actually be worth a lot of money.

There are only a few Thanksgiving themed songs. Most people, including radio stations, begin playing Christmas music on Thanksgiving Day. Yes, Adam Sandler of Saturday Night Live fame, released The Thanksgiving Song which has experienced some notoriety. But there is a long-running cult favorite that was born out of the 1960s anti Viet Nam protests that has become somewhat of a tradition to play, especially by Rock radio stations around the country.

This holiday season, WIBX's Keeler Show is raising money for Real Men Get Tested for Cancer - a 501C3 non-profit that simply promotes the importance of men getting tested and screened for cancer.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating this week's Wanted Person of the Week.

Each year around the holidays, New York State Police and the NYS Liquor Authority conduct one of their sting operations to find local establishments, clerks and bartenders willing to sell alcohol to minors. An operation was recently conducted on November 21, 2024, and all but one of the locations tested complied with the law.

Not everybody wants the chaos and mess of family or friends at your home for Thanksgiving dinner. Some people prefer to "eat out" for the holiday - and you still get the opportunity to put leftovers in the refrigerator for the holiday weekend.

The New York State Police will participate in a special traffic enforcement initiative to crack down on unsafe driving behaviors during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. The special traffic enforcement period runs from Saturday, November 23, 2024, through Sunday, December 1, 2024.
