Oriskany, NY (WIBX) - An upcoming training program for local emergency responders may help injured farmers receive better assistance.

This Saturday and Sunday, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County is offering the National Farmedic Training Program, teaching EMTs, policemen and firefighters how to respond to farm predicaments.

Students will learn about various emergencies through in-class and on the farm lessons.

The cost to register for the two day program is $90 per person, and must be pre-paid by September 25th. Classes will operate from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.  Space is limited and a maximum of only four people per organization may attend.
