Centro is adding 12 buses to its fleet beginning today to provide service during what are historically the busiest days of the Great New York State Fair.

The buses are being provided by the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority.

Centro will also bring in drivers from its Utica operation and from Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit.

Centro operates Park-N-Ride lots to provide access to the Fair and operates shuttles in the Fair’s Orange and Willis Avenue parking lots.

"The Fair, Centro and State Police have worked closely this past week to see how our new traffic patterns are working. I have also spent a great deal of time at Gate 10 and riding our trams to talk to fairgoers to hear their ideas and concerns. We take all of it seriously and are making changes now and will make more in time for the 2020 Fair. We never stop trying to improve," said Fair Director Troy Waffner.

The State Fair runs through Labor Day.
