Chittenango Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud

A Chittenango woman has been arrested and charged with welfare fraud and filing a false instrument for filing.

51-year old Tammy Dyer allegedly submitted false information to the Department of Social Services that contained false information regarding her husband's income.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says as a result, Dyer received over 23-hundred dollars in public assistance that she was not eligible for.

Dyer is scheduled to answer the charges in Lenox Town Court on April 4th.
